Our Management Team

The Trade Risk Partners management team collaborates with business and financial partners across a range of industries and markets to protect clients’ assets and grow their opportunities.

Heather Horan, CIC, RGCP, CGCE

Heather serves as the President of Trade Risk Partners, as the authorized Midwest Agency for Coface North America. Prior to establishing Trade Risk Partners in 2015, Heather held various leadership positions in the insurance industry over the past 20 years. Heather spent 15 years working in Specialty and Risk Management with global brokers structuring insurance portfolios across multiple lines of insurance, alternative risk and reinsurance. Heather also held national and zone leadership roles at two global insurance carriers leading business development with strategic partners. Heather leads the Trade Risk Partners team across 15 states in the Midwest territory leading a team of 12 Trusted Advisors as well as 5 Client Executives. Her definition of success is ensuring client satisfaction through trusted partnerships to mitigate risk. As a business owner and daughter of an Irish immigrant who built a distribution business from a small start-up, she is keenly aware of how important collecting on receivables is. “My goal is to protect businesses from insolvency through insurance protection, information services, and debt collection so businesses can grow and sustain in an ever changing trade environment.”  When Heather is not leading the team and engaging with her clients and business partners she is spending time with her family, volunteering, hiking up a mountain, attending, or watching sports.

Daniel O’Connor

Vice President, Strategic Partners

Dan has extensive experience with Coface both as a Trusted Advisor in the Chicago marketplace and a Broker with experience across multiple channels in finance and risk management. Dan is located in the Chicago office working with domestic and global strategic partners throughout the Midwest. Dan earned a Bachelors Degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in Business Management. When Dan is not reviewing and structuring credit risks, he enjoys spending time outdoors and with family and friends.

Michael Hawkins

Vice President, Strategic Partners

Mike has over 30 years in Trade Credit insurance not including his time learning from his father Jim Hawkins in his family’s  agency. Mike’s expertise and knowledge of the inner workings of global trade and finance remains unparalleled. Mike is located in the company’s Cleveland office and serves global and specialty strategic partners throughout the Midwest. Mike holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Bowling Green State University in Marketing. Mike also holds a Son’s of the American Revolution designation. When Mike is not thinking of new ways to structure Trade Credit policies , he enjoys golfing, hunting and working alongside his wife Lori.
